This traditionally shaped coffee can, originating in the eighteenth century, features an array of summer visitors to the garden. Ladybirds, dragonflies, bumble and honey bees and butterflies mingle with two contrasting floral motifs to give a rich cornucopia of abundance and joy.
Coffee Can is an 18th century description of a sometimes tall cup without a saucer… the forerunner of what we might call a mug. However, some did have saucers too so in that vein we continue to use the term to delineate from mugs and tea cups and saucers.
